JOB DESCRIPTION

As a communication strategist, you will drive the strategic and operational communication work in close collaboration with the management. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and following up on communication efforts that contribute to goal fulfillment. The role involves a particular focus on coordination, production planning, and continuous dialogue with relevant operations to ensure that the communication is needs-oriented, accurate, and carried out through the right channels. You will also work closely with the communication department's team and contribute both strategic expertise and operational work. You will be part of Region Gävleborg's crisis communication preparedness (KIB) and play an important role in the societal function of communication.

As a communication strategist, you will work with:

• strategically planning communication as an extension of Region Gävleborg's common communication strategy
• initiating, leading, and coordinating communication efforts
• prioritizing and planning production and resources in close collaboration with colleagues and management
• providing qualified advice, support, and guidance to managers and project leaders
• contributing operationally with content production and materials
• monitoring and analyzing needs and adapting communication to changing conditions
• ensuring that efforts comply with laws, policies, and guidelines
• coordinating and documenting communication efforts for follow-up and reporting
• contributing to developing Region Gävleborg as a communicative organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, proactive, and enjoys collaborating. You have the ability to create trust, structure, and clarity in complex environments. An inclusive and professional approach is a natural part of your work.

In the role of communication strategist, you should have:

• a university degree in communication or equivalent
• experience in both practical and strategic communication work
• experience in driving communication projects from start to finish
• documented strong writing skills
• good knowledge of digital communication tools, modern channel choices, and target group adaptation
• experience in coordinating and planning communication production.

It is an advantage if you have experience in communication within public operations.
